This role combines the responsibilities of a Country Manager and Head of Sales in Japan. The current team in Japan includes two Customer Success Managers and one solution engineer/technical customer service.
What you'll do...
Market Strategy
- Develop and implement business strategies for success in the Japanese market
- Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team based on market analysis
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations in Japan, ensuring efficiency and compliance with local regulations
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Manage budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for Japan operations
Sales and Revenue Growth
- Collaborate with the global marketing team to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets
- Nurture and expand existing customers such as Adastira, Baycrews, LVMH JP
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company's presence in Japan
- Respond to inbound opportunities in APAC
Cultural Adaptation
- Understand and navigate the cultural nuances of the Japanese market to tailor strategies and operations accordingly
- Adapt global company policies to align with local cultural expectations and practices
Reporting and Analysis
- Provide regular reports to the executive team on the performance of Japan operations
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of strategies and make data-driven decisions
Who you are...
- Substantial leadership experience in the Japanese market
- In-depth knowledge of the local business environment, culture, and regulatory landscape
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills
- Financial acumen and budget management experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise account management, preferably in the SaaS industry, with experience in managing complex sales cycles
- Established network of potential customers, particularly within the retail sector
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Japanese and English
